Need help with Windows Server 2012 NIC teaming setup

VR38DETT thank you very much for your advice. I have 8 NICs in each server (diagram showing only 3), how would you recommend setting them up in two node cluster? Planning to have (moved from old 2008R2 cluster) 50-60 virtual servers (Windows 2003/2008/2008R2) on new 2012 Hyper-V cluster. About 7-10 VMs are very “important” SQL 2008 servers, the rest just need to be highly available. How about jumbo frames, some people recommend some don’t?! Should I divide 3TB LUN onto multiple CSVs or keep it as it is?

Hitachi SAN, controllers setup as active-active

1) Stick with this guide:

http://www.starwindsoftware.com/providing-ha-shared-storage-for-hyper-v

replacing StarWind nodes with Hitachi controllers (basically the same thing) and adding extra NICs and corresponding wiring for iSCSI traffic to increase performance and fault tolerance.

2) What are you going to do with "important" VMs? Guest VM cluster? Own apps clustering features?

3) Enable Jumbo frames unless something is broken (drivers outdated, switches go bad with Jumbo enabled etc). Generally speaking there's no way get wire speed with iSCSI w/i enabling Jumbo.

4) Do not create "islands of storage". Create one LUN, configure OBR10 (One Big RAID10), put CSV on top of it and host your VMs there.
